Privacy Notice
Last updated: 13 October 2026
This notice explains what personal information FOOTELLO collects, why, and your rights. We keep it as short and plain as we can.
Who is responsible for your information
Searlco Ltd (registered in England and Wales, company number 12713800, registered office: Ongar Business Centre The Gables, Fyfield Road, Ongar, Essex, England, CM5 0GA) is the controller of your personal information for FOOTELLO. ICO registration number: ZB346999.
Contact us about privacy at info@footello.com.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, the display name and manager name you choose, and your password (stored only as a secure scrambled "hash" that we cannot read).
- Your choices when you sign up: that you accepted our terms and this notice (and which versions), that you confirmed you're 13 or over, and whether you want news emails.
- Game information: your club, its name and colours, your team selections, tactics, matches and results.
- Security information: the time you last signed in, and the email address and internet (IP) address used for failed sign-in attempts, so we can stop people guessing passwords.
- Technical information: your browser stores a sign-in cookie and some game settings on your device (see our Cookies page). Our web host keeps standard server logs (IP address, pages requested, time).
We don't collect your real name, address, date of birth or payment card details for the free game. If we start offering paid items, payments will be handled by a payment provider and we'll update this notice first.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To run your account and the game (contract): signing you in, saving your club and playing your matches.
- To keep FOOTELLO safe and fair (legitimate interests): preventing cheating, abuse and password guessing, and fixing faults.
- To send you news (consent): only if you ticked the box. You can change your mind at any time.
- To meet our legal obligations (legal obligation): for example keeping records we must keep by law.
Children
You must be 13 or over to play. If you're under 16, please make sure a parent or guardian is happy for you to play and has read this notice with you. We design FOOTELLO with children's privacy in mind: profiles are not public beyond your club and manager names, we don't show adverts, and we don't sell personal information.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- our web hosting provider, which stores the game and its database for us;
- jsDelivr, a content delivery network that supplies some of the code used by the match screen (it receives your IP address when the match loads);
- other providers we may use to send emails, under contracts that protect your information;
- the police, courts or regulators if the law requires it.
Other players can see your club's name and your manager name.
How long we keep it
We keep your account for as long as you have one. If you ask us to delete your account we will delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep something by law. Failed sign-in records are removed after a short time. If an account is not used for two years we may delete it.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, to have it moved to another service, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email info@footello.com. We'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
Keeping it safe
Passwords are hashed, the site uses secure connections (HTTPS), and access to the database is limited. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password you don't use elsewhere.
Changes
We'll update this notice when anything changes and show the date at the top. If a change is important we'll tell you when you next sign in.
